I'd rather do it myself...
Don't look over my shoulder.
I want to do it my way.
I want to prove I don't need you.
I'm better than you if you'd just leave me alone.
It's great if a person wants to do something on their own as long as the goal is about the team or the customer or company. If it's to prove independence, there's nothing good or admirable about it.

I agree that nothing good comes out of people just wanting to do things themselves only to prove that they're independent. I think the more creative minds that are on a project, the better. And, people who take all the work on can easily burn out and feel overwhelmed. Like you said, there's nothing admirable about that. Has that ever happened to you before or during your time at your marketing company? If so, what made you realize the "I'd rather do it myself" mentality isn't the best attitude to have? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIn our Fort Wayne marketing company we are tempted to be too independent daily. We want to do it our way, we don't want to bother other busy people and we think we're pretty smart on our own. Of course, we are better off as a team and most of the time at LaBov & Beyond, I believe we work well together. Thanks for the tough question!
